If WARDOGS can't connect to a server, don't rush to reinstall the game right away.
WARDOGS uses a server browser and large multiplayer servers, so the phrase “I can't get in” can mean very different things:
The key is to understand at which stage the connection breaks.
|
Server Problem |
What You May See |
|---|---|
|
WARDOGS connection failed |
The game launches but cannot establish a connection to the servers. |
|
WARDOGS failed to connect to server |
You select a server, but WARDOGS does not allow you to join it. |
|
Empty server list / servers not showing |
The server browser opens, but the list remains empty. |
|
No available servers |
WARDOGS shows that there are currently no available game servers. |
|
Servers are not open yet |
The client works, but the game servers have not started yet or are unavailable. |
|
Server queue is full / server is full |
The server appears in the list, but you cannot join because there are no available slots. |
|
WARDOGS Server Status issues |
Servers appear unavailable, or it is unclear whether they are currently working. |
|
Unable to join a server from Russia |
Servers appear, but you cannot connect to them from Russia. |
|
WARDOGS stuck on connecting |
WARDOGS starts connecting but gets stuck on the loading screen. |
|
Kicked while connecting to a server |
The connection starts, but the game sends you back before you enter the match. |
|
WARDOGS server disconnected |
You successfully join the server, but after some time you are disconnected and returned to the menu. |
|
WARDOGS crashes while connecting to a server |
The game crashes specifically while connecting or loading into a server. |
|
WARDOGS keeps disconnecting |
You can connect, but the connection is unstable and soon breaks. |
Use this if the server browser works, but connections repeatedly:
This usually means the game can see the servers, but the route between your PC and the server is unreliable.
1. Close WARDOGS.
2. Completely exit Steam.
3. Open LagoFast.
4. Find WARDOGS.

5. Select the region where you are trying to play.

6. Select the recommended node.
7. Click Boost.

8. Open Steam again.
9. Launch WARDOGS.
10. Try to join a server with available slots.
Do not switch nodes while the game is open. First close WARDOGS, change the node, and then connect again.
Also, do not choose a node simply because it has the lowest displayed ping. If one route gives you 45 ms but loses packets, while another gives you 60 ms and works stably, choose the 60 ms route.
Keep the working route.
You do not need to:
You have already confirmed that the game client and server are working.
If you cannot log in, the server list is empty, or all servers suddenly stop accepting connections, WARDOGS may be experiencing server problems. This is especially possible around the September 10 early-access period, when login services and game servers may be under heavy load.
However, WARDOGS does not need to be completely unavailable for problems to occur. Different parts of the online service can fail separately:
Therefore, before reinstalling WARDOGS, check how far you can get. If several servers disappear or all of them simultaneously become unable to accept connections, the problem is much more likely to be on the WARDOGS side, and local PC fixes will not help until the service is restored.
Instead of trying random fixes, check in this order:
If not, the problem occurs before you even select a server.
Check:
If the menu works but the list is completely empty, move to the “Server List Is Empty” section below.
If you see several servers and can only not join one of them, WARDOGS is most likely not generally unavailable.
Try another server.
If several previously visible servers disappear, stop changing things on your PC. This is much more likely to indicate insufficient server-side resources, maintenance, or a backend failure.
An empty browser does not automatically mean that all WARDOGS servers are down.
Before changing anything with your network, first reset the server browser itself.

If multiple regions are selected, deselect them and test only one.
Do this:
If the servers suddenly appear, the problem was with the browser/filter state.
Do not reinstall the game.
Temporarily allow the browser to show:
Then refresh the list.
Once the servers appear, narrow the filters again.
The goal right now is not to immediately find the perfect server. First, you need to make sure that the browser can return a server list at all.
Here, you should immediately try another server.
Do not spend 20 minutes diagnosing a single server.
Choose another server in the same region with:
Stop troubleshooting.
Most likely, the first server was:
Your installation is fine.
Then the problem is broader.
Check three things:
After that, test LagoFast or another network.
A long Connecting screen tells you something important:
the server has already been found, but the connection to the session is not completing.
Do the following:
Do not repeatedly try to connect to the same server without refreshing the list.
The server may have become full while your client was trying to join.
If the browser shows:
100/100
there is nothing to fix here.
Choose another server.
To join faster, choose a server with some spare capacity, for example:
82/100 91/100 95/100
instead of repeatedly trying to join the same full server.
For a game built around large multiplayer servers, capacity limitations are a normal part of how the server browser works.
If you are kicked before fully appearing in the game, it usually means that the session failed specifically during the connection stage rather than during the match itself.
First, test another server.
Use it.
Most likely, the problem was with the original server.
Now check:
If WARDOGS displays a specific error code or Easy Anti-Cheat message, stop treating this as a general server problem and troubleshoot that specific error instead.
This is a different problem.
If you successfully enter the game and play before being disconnected, it means the server browser and initial authentication have already worked.
Pay attention to what happens immediately before the connection breaks.
If you see:
then your connection is becoming unstable during the match.
Use LagoFast and test another nearby node.
At the same time, stop background traffic:
Then play again in the same region.
Use another server.
Do not change your entire network configuration because of one unstable server.
This is one of the most revealing tests.

Your WARDOGS installation is fine.
It is much more likely that the problem is with the route used by your home internet connection.
Switch back to your normal connection and use LagoFast.
Do not immediately blame your ISP.
Check:
If two completely different networks produce the same failure, it is less likely to be a simple home-routing problem.
This is where you should not change local settings too quickly.
If:
then the server browser/backend may have a larger-scale problem.
Perform one clean check:
If the list is still empty, it is better to wait for the service to recover rather than reinstalling the game over and over.
Only when there are signs that the problem is specifically with your client.
Use Steam's verification if:
Go to:
Steam → Library → WARDOGS → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files
If the verification completes successfully and nothing changes, do not run it repeatedly.
File verification cannot:
Stop changing anything on your PC if the signs point to a server-side issue.
For example:
WARDOGS was working normally
↓
Several servers suddenly disappear
↓
Different networks produce the same result
↓
Your client is fully updated
↓
Other players also cannot connect
At this point, reinstalling WARDOGS will not help.
Wait for the server or backend to recover.
The same applies when a specific server disappears after kicking several players. Simply choose another available server.
