Patches the Fallout 3 + DLC ESM files with essential fixes + decompression optimization.
Unofficial Fallout 3 ESM Patcher
What it Does Patches the Fallout 3 + DLC ESM files with essential fixes + decompression optimization. Almost all of the fixes come from the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch. The fixes ported from it are preferred to not be overrides and some changes aren't possible for an override to do. This has been made to be extremely compatible with any mod as if they're like the base game.
Requirements
English Fallout 3 + DLCs v1.7.0.3 or higher
Unedited Fallout 3 + DLC ESM files
Installation Instructions
Close all programs that have your Fallout 3 + DLC ESM files open
Backup your Fallout 3 + DLC ESM files (Just in case this needs an update)
Extract and run the exe installer file (It's a surprisingly fast patch process)
Both destination locations in the installer are towards your Fallout 3 Data folder (this is where your ESM files are)
Changes
All actors update more frequently (this also fixes dead bodies that wouldn't appear)
Decompressed NPCs + Landscapes (Should be less CPU intensive + help reduce loading times + possibly help reduce stutters in game)
Removed empty cell brackets (coding cosmetics)
Removed unused dialogue topics with no dialogue lines in them (topics with no dialogue lines in them won't show up in game so they're pointless being loaded at all. Every topic in the game being loaded will have dialogue lines now)
Removed identical to master records in DLC esms (Dirty records)
Fixed placed reference NPC + Creatures to be persistent (The geck by default does this for good reason. When not persistent, especially out in the wasteland, sometimes NPCs would not be present when they should be)
Fixed placed reference objects that shouldn't be persistent (statics, non-portal doors, etc)
Undeleted and marked for initially disabled towards deleted placed references (FO3 esm didn't have any)
Fixed critical errors reported by XEdit
Fixed Geck warnings
Fixed missing or incomplete code (simply saving the esms in the geck completes what each record should fully have)
Fixed missing dialogue previous info (simply saving the esms in the geck puts all the dialogue in the correct order)
Fixed object bounds (simply saving the esms in the geck fixes these)
Fixed broken NavMesh, deleted NavMesh, broken/missing portals, finalized all NavMesh, and updated Nav Info Maps
Fixed references to not have Enable Parent + Initially Disabled flags on at the same time (These are technically errors. Only one or the other should be on, not both. Can cause triggers to sometimes trigger when setup like that)
Description This utility patches the ESM files of Fallout 3 and its five DLCs by applying critical fixes and decompressing some entries to optimize them. The patches it contains work best if they do not overwrite the ESM entries, or even cannot be done so. The changes made are extremely compatible with any mod as if you were using the base game.
Prerequisites
A French version of Fallout 3 with its five DLCs in version 1.7. 0.3 minimum
Not having edited the ESM files for Fallout 3 and its five DLCs
Instructions d'installation
Close all programs where Fallout 3 ESMs and DLCs are open
Keep a backup of the ESM files of Fallout 3 and its five DLCs (just in case this patcher is updated)
Extract the contents of the archive and run the executable (the patching process will be very fast)
The two destination folders in the installer indicate the DATA folder of your Fallout 3 installation (where the ESM files are located)
List of changes
All NPCs and creatures to update more frequently (this also fixes the issue of corpses refusing to spawn)
Decompression of NPC and landscapes inputs (loading them will consume less CPU and this should reduce load times and stuttering problems)
Removal of empty cell brackets (for more elegant code in XEdit)
Removing unused dialogue topics that contained no lines (the game will now only load topics that contain at least one line of dialogue)
Removing Identical to Master changes in DLC ESM files
Fixed NPC and creature references to be persistent (Geck does this by default for a good reason: such non-persistent references, especially in wastelands, mean NPCs may not spawn when they should)
Fix object references that should not be persistent (static, gates not changing cells, etc.)
Removed references in DLC ESM files have been de-deleted and marked as initially disabled
Fixed critical bugs reported by XEdit
Fixed warnings reported by GECK
Correction of missing/incomplete code (simply resaving the ESM files into the GECK completes the truncated entries in this way)
Fixed missing "previous info" for dialogues (simply resaving ESM files in GECK puts all dialogues back in order)
Correction of object bounds (simply resaving the ESM files in the GECK fixes them)
Fixed broken and/or deleted navmeshes, broken/missing portals, finalized all navmeshes, and updated nav info maps
Fixed references that had both the Enable Parent and Initially Disabled flags to have only one of the two (technically, only one or the other needs to be enabled; both at the same time can cause triggers to be activated unintentionally)
