A series of tiny mods that will tweak certain aspects of gameplay. Choose and install the ones you like! Installed with the Atlan Mod Loader.
I may continue adding onto these mods as I look through decls periodically for things I can tweak. I'm no expert on modding so if you request a tweak, please don't expect too crazy of changes, lol
For the most part these are personal tweaks I've come up with that may affect your personal experience of The Dark Ages. Many make certain weapons or playstyles more powerful; I'd recommend adjusting your difficulty sliders to compensate.
THE REBALANCES MADE TO GAMEPLAY WERE MADE USING: 250% DMG to player 50% DMG to demons 140% game speed High resource values THIS WILL PROVIDE YOU THE INTENDED BALANCING EXPERIENCE. Use an increment mod to get more specific with the damage sliders. WEAPON REBALANCES (listed under Main Files): Guns: 1.0 Accelerator: Feedback charge per-hit increased from 0.05 to 0.1
1.0 Cycling: Damage increased from 650 to 1000. Overload damage increased from 812 to 1500. Shots required to apply Shock decreased from 10 to 5.
1.2 Shredder: Upgraded firerate value and damage increased (a little less than 1.1, was too strong when u consider the Pincushion and Ricochet upgrades). Now the Shredder can finally live up to its name.
1.0 Ravage: The Ignition upgrade's time to reach maximum firerate decreased from 2000ms to 1000ms
1.0 Combat Shotgun Boom Tweak: Increases radius and damage of the Combat Shotgun's explode-on-kill upgrade. Small (fodder): 5 radius, 1000 dmg > 20 radius, 3000 dmg Medium (light heavies like Hell Knight and Imp Stalker): 8 radius, 5000 dmg > 35 radius, 6500 dmg Large (bigger heavies like cacodemon, superheavies): 12 radius, 8000 dmg > 50 radius, 9000 dmg
1.0 AP Spikes: Increased armor damage multiplier for the Railspike class guns.
Melee: 1.2 Gauntlet - In context with the other melee rebalances, this one started to feel a little weak as the Mace worked well enough as a damage dealer, has very strong AOE and guarantees falters to boot. Version 1.2 buffs the gauntlets further. They should now feel like an extremely powerful single-target risk-vs-reward weapon, where dedication to using all four strikes in the combo is key to maximizing damage output and eviscerating even the toughest of foes. Strikes 1 and 2 damage increased to 7500 for both. Unupgraded kick increased to 15000; upgraded kick to 20000. Final fourth hit damage increased to a whopping 35000. Fully upgraded combo total damage: 68000
1.3 Flail - The flail shouldn't feel quite as powerful of a dmg dealer as other options, but instead more like a viable pick to wail on enemies with consistent damage (that can actually build up pretty quickly thanks to the crazy fast melee charge speed) and armor regen.New in Version 1.3 are extra damage multipliers against a few heavy demons with slightly lower base AOE damage than Version 1.2 to compensate. Damage (AOE + Direct) increased from 2100 to 3100. Regen rate significantly increased, with a fourth strike available at the end of three-hit combos. Stone Imp die instantly upon hit (normal ones too, unavoidable side effect of the tweak I guess). Imp Stalker aoe dmg multiplier: 4.5 Battle Knight Returning aoe dmg multiplier: 1.75 Fully upgraded combo total damage: 12400
1.3 Mace - The mace should feel like a strong tool for interrupting attacks and creating openings thanks to its faltering, but not as insanely strong of a damage dealer. New in version 1.3 are increased pips gained from Impaler headshots, faster parry charge gain cooldowns and extra damage multipliers against Cosmic Realm enemies; details can be found below. Max base strikes increased from 1 to 2. Allows for 3 consecutive strikes with the Riposte upgrade. Damage has been tweaked. 5000 per hit, + 5000 AOE (unupgraded) / 8000 AOE (upgraded). This results in 10000 total damage per hit (unupgraded) / 13000 total damage per hit (upgraded). Cacodemon direct hit dmg multiplier: 2 Cosmic Baron 1.5 Acolyte direct hit dmg multiplier: 2.5 Fully upgraded combo total damage: 39000
1.0 Shield Charge Revamp - Tweaks the Shield Charge to allow for slight horizontal movement during its duration. Additionally, cancel the shield charge early with your jump bind. Jumping, shield charging then pressing jump again while holding a horizontal direction launches you forward past your target.
GAMEPLAY TWEAKS (listed under Optional Files):
1.1 Beatdown Executions:Furiously combo dazed enemies to reap the rewards of an execution! Execution strikes are no longer always a guaranteed kill from a single button press; instead, depending on how much health damage a demon has taken before it enters daze state, it may require two, three, or several more strikes to take down.
Each strike on a dazed enemy will falter nearby enemies, and you will maintain invincibility frames like normal execution strikes. Shield charges and Dreadmace strikes will deal much greater damage during daze combos.
Additionally, death-from-above synced glory kills will of course still instantly kill the enemy if you want a faster, more guaranteed takedown. Useful for enforcers and empowered demons, who have a lot more health.
I'd recommend raising Daze Duration to 125-150% and lowering Damage to Demons to 50-75% for the intended experience.
I intend to try to figure out if I can make execution strikes extend the length of a daze state. The NoSyncStrikes mod is a perfect pairing with this one if you want a true melee frenzy experience.
1.2 Faster Shield Charge Cooldown: Shield charge cooldown decreased from 3000ms to 2200ms
1.2 Faster Shield Health Recovery: Upgraded shield health recovery time decreased from 1500 to 750ms
^ Originally these two files were combined because I thought there were conflicts involving modifying the same file. Evidently I was incorrect, and they should work fine separate. Let me know if it doesn't work
1.0 No Weapon Swap Delays: This mod is identical to what idk92998's mod does, removing the delay that prohibits weapon swaps after firing single-shot guns. Unfortunately, this current solution breaks reloading animations, making weapons like the Super Shotgun, Impaler and Rocket Launcher quite janky visually when using them alone. This also does not apply to the Reaver Chainshot, whose swap delay is seemingly unique from other weapons. Hopefully soon a more experienced modder will come along and make a better version of this. For now, though, this does allow for quick swap combos like Eternal! It's recommended to use this with the Kaibz Mod which allows you to change weapon swap speed.
1.1 Ammo Cap Rebalances: Decreases most ammo pool maximums by a significant amount to encourage more firearm variety and usage of melee attacks to replenish ammo. Max Shotgun Ammo: 32 > 26 (SSG: 16 > 13) Max Plasma Ammo: 320 > 200 (C: 240 > 150) Max Chainshot Ammo: 18 > 10 Max Rocket Ammo: 30 > 19 (RL: 20 > 12) Max Skull Ammo: 300 > 200 (PV: 150 > 100) Max Spike Ammo: 180 > 130 (I: 15 > 10)
1.1 Autoturret Rebalance: Turn the autoturret into a true tool of destruction more in line with the other runes' strengths! Grants the Autoturret rune significant AOE damage (turned down a bit compared to 1.0, was a little too powerful in testing), a duration extension and more rapid health drops! Heavies will drop health faster than fodder to encourage aiming at priority targets.
1.0 No Fence Projectile Shot Blocks (ARCHIVED) - Say goodbye to the woes of getting your shots blocked by enemy projectiles! Most projectiles will no longer prevent shots from passing through them. (May make another version where enemy projectiles can block shots but get destroyed after enough damage)
1.0 Chaingunner Shield Nerf (ARCHIVED) - Also does exactly what it's called. Debuffs the chaingunner's shield health massively (may even make them pre-heated on spawn, haven't tested very much)
MISC. Arm (listed under Miscellaneous Files): 1.0 Extended Hud Spacing Bars: Allows for greater customization of the horizontal and vertical "safe zone spacing" in the HUD options. Edit your hud spacing to look similar to Eternal's Racecar skin mod by velser! An example is provided in the Media tab.
This tool is provided by the third party [bufftool]
