If Diablo 4 shows “The request has timed out. Error Code 30008”, the important detail is where it happens: Battle.net may open normally, detect updates, and launch the game, but Diablo 4 times out before the character-selection screen.
That means the current July problem is usually not a broken installation. For many Russian players, the Battle.net launcher remains reachable while the separate Diablo 4 login connection fails. Reports began on July 9 across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and some players remained unable to enter for several days.
This guide applies to the current Diablo 4 client on:
Battle.net and Steam on Windows PC
PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
Use LagoFast first when Battle.net works but Diablo 4 always times out while logging in.
This exact pattern matters. The Battle.net launcher and the Diablo 4 game session do not necessarily use the same server connection. Being able to open Battle.net, download patches, or change the launcher region does not prove that your connection can reach the Diablo 4 login service.
Close Diablo 4 completely.
Exit Battle.net or Steam from the system tray.
Close any other connection-routing tools.
Open LagoFast.
Search for Diablo IV.

Select the platform version you use.

Choose a recommended European node.

Click Boost.
Open Battle.net or Steam only after LagoFast is active.
Launch Diablo 4 and wait for the character-selection screen.
If Code 300008 remains:
Close both Diablo 4 and Battle.net.
Stop the current LagoFast route.
Select another nearby European node.
Start the boost again.
Reopen Battle.net and retry once.
Do not switch repeatedly between Europe, Americas, and Asia inside Battle.net. Current players reported receiving the same 300008 timeout regardless of the Battle.net region because the failed connection occurred after the launcher had already opened.
Once you can log in, test the connection with a Softcore character before entering a Hardcore session.
Some players encountered Code 300008 immediately after Diablo 4 crashed in the open world while displaying a message that the character was being saved to the server.
In this situation, your previous character session may still be registered as active. The game then fails before character selection because the old session has not fully closed.
Close Diablo 4.
Exit Battle.net completely.
Open Task Manager.
End these processes if they remain:
Diablo IV.exe
Battle.net.exe
Agent.exe
Sign out of Battle.net.
Wait 10–15 minutes without attempting another login.
Restart the PC or fully power-cycle the console.
Sign back in and launch Diablo 4 once.
Do not press Play every few seconds during the waiting period. Repeated login requests may continue hitting the same unfinished session.
If the error started directly after a character-saving crash but still remains after several hours, submit a Blizzard ticket and mention that Code 300008 began while the character was being saved.
This is the most important scenario for the current Russian reports.
Players described the following sequence:
Battle.net opens normally.
The launcher checks Diablo 4 for updates.
The game starts.
Diablo 4 fails during login.
Code 300008 appears before character selection.
This indicates that repairing the Battle.net launcher alone is unlikely to solve the issue. It also explains why changing graphics settings, reinstalling the GPU driver, or switching Battle.net regions does nothing.
A different route through LagoFast or another internet connection is a more relevant test because it changes how the game reaches the Diablo 4 server rather than only changing the launcher interface.
Changing DNS is useful when Battle.net cannot locate a service address. However, this week’s players could often open Battle.net and download updates normally.

That means DNS may not be the failed part.
Try DNS only after testing LagoFast and restarting the Diablo 4 session.
1.1.1.1
1.0.0.1
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
If changing DNS does not affect Code 300008, return it to Automatic. Do not keep switching DNS providers when the game connection itself is timing out further along the route.
The current Code 300008 problem is not limited to PC. Players on PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S have also reported being unable to reach character selection even after restarting the console and router.
Do not leave it suspended through Rest Mode or Quick Resume.
Close Diablo 4 completely.
Turn off the console.
Unplug the power cable.
Wait two minutes.
Reconnect the console.
Restart it and launch Diablo 4.
Connect the console briefly through a mobile hotspot.
If Diablo 4 works, the console and account are fine; the home connection route is the likely problem.
If Code 300008 remains on both connections, check for a wider server problem or a stuck account session.
For LagoFast, open the PC client, choose Diablo IV, select the console platform, and follow LagoFast’s console connection instructions for the PS5 or Xbox on the same network.
Do not reinstall the full console game when another network allows the same installation to log in.
Code 300008 is a login timeout, so Scan and Repair should not be the first solution.
Use it only when:
Diablo 4 was updating when the connection failed;
Battle.net repeatedly downloads the same patch;
the game also crashes before login;
only one PC is affected;
Steam or Battle.net reports damaged files.
Open Battle.net.
Select Diablo IV.
Click the gear beside Play.
Select Scan and Repair.
Click Begin Scan.
Restart Battle.net after it finishes.
Right-click Diablo IV.
Open Properties.
Select Installed Files.
Click Verify integrity of game files.
Restart Steam.
If the scan finds nothing and LagoFast or another connection allows login, your game files are not the cause.
Stop changing local settings when:
players in several countries receive 300008 together;
Diablo 4 displays a widespread login queue;
the error begins during announced maintenance;
every platform is affected;
LagoFast and another internet connection both fail;
your entire party is removed at the same time.
Code 300008 appeared during previous Diablo 4 expansion and update launches when login services were overloaded. In that situation, only Blizzard can restore access.
Check Battle.net’s Breaking News message before reinstalling the game. Blizzard also recommends checking current service announcements before starting local connection troubleshooting.
Do not waste time on:
lowering textures or shadows;
changing DLSS or resolution;
updating the graphics driver;
deleting your character;
creating a new Battle.net account;
switching repeatedly between Battle.net regions;
reinstalling Diablo 4 several times;
changing your Steam country;
repeatedly pressing Play while the login is timing out.

These actions do not repair a failed Diablo 4 login session or the connection route to the game servers.
When Diablo 4 shows Code 300008 in Russia:
Close Diablo 4 and Battle.net completely.
Start LagoFast and choose a stable European node.
Reopen Battle.net and test the login.
If the game previously crashed while saving your character, wait 10–15 minutes before retrying.
Test another internet connection on PC or console.
Use Scan and Repair only when the update or game files may be incomplete.
Wait for Blizzard when players across multiple regions cannot log in.
The key distinction is simple: Battle.net working does not mean the Diablo 4 game server connection is working. When the launcher opens but Code 300008 appears before character selection, focus on the Diablo 4 route and the previous account session—not graphics or a full reinstall.
